Week Nine: 29 February - 6 March 2016

This weeks IPS contest was close up and macro photographs - a huge favourite of mine!  I have many many close up/macro shots but I really want to use these contests to push myself and my own boundaries.  I kept a watch on the entries during week and saw that the majority were flowers.  Beautiful flowers which I love, but I wanted to try something different. To see what other subjects benefited from being explored close up and in detail.  Here are the entries I settled on.  The first two are new compositions. The third was taken last year at home - a reminder of the beautiful roses which bloom in another land.

I love all of these shots, but maybe my favourite is the middle shot with the text. For some reason that shot really resonates with me and I will explore the use of text, perspective and colour again.

I was lucky enough to be placed in the top 30. Can you guess which shot?  Take a look here and see!
